India at the Olympics: The Countdown Begins
India is a country of 1.4 billion people. Its Olympic medal count has historically not reflected that. That is changing rapidly, driven by a new generation of Indian athletes rising across disciplines and a national infrastructure that is finally beginning to match the country's ambition.
DSportStar is part of this movement. We work at the grassroots level to build the foundation on which Olympic dreams are built: early talent identification, structured competitive pathways, financial support, and a culture that takes sport seriously from childhood.
India's Olympic Ambition
- The 2032 Brisbane Olympics is a target date for India's sporting establishment. India has set its sights on a significantly improved medal performance at Brisbane and beyond. The work to reach that target starts now, at the community level, in schools and tribal belts, in border towns, and across every region of the country.
- India is also pursuing a bid to host the 2036 Summer Olympics, which would be the largest sporting event ever held on Indian soil. The infrastructure investment, the national energy, and the institutional commitment that come with that bid are already beginning to reshape Indian sport.
The Long View
The Indian athlete who wins gold in 2032 may be training in a community today. The difference between a medal and a near-miss is often the quality of the support system around an athlete in their formative years. The SportStar builds that support system.
